Participants will become familiar with the WBMHS: Be the Change curriculum and co-curricular programming and events that have been developed and implemented over two decades. This dynamic model began with a dream of just 12 students in the Wellness: Leadership and Advocacy course in 1999. Now in 2019, our model directly addresses the WBMHS Vision of a Graduate and a multitude of NEASC 2020 Standards for Accreditation. Participants can expect to learn ways to capture the passion adolescents have for change in the world and how to empower young people to identify community needs, create effective programming based on proven methods and implement events, programs and traditions that become a positive component of school culture. This workshop will include interactive activities that parallel collaborative lessons from the course and introduce participants to sample interactive experiences used during some of our student-led programs for a positive, inclusive school environment. Expect to come away with an action plan that can be adapted to your school community.

We have several Peer Leaders presenting with us. Hear from the students that do the work, that inspire us to be better, and that bring their passion for change to the forefront in making schools work for them.
