This session will provide participants an introduction to “Coaching Cards,” tools created by the Woodrow Wilson Graduate School of Teaching and Learning to help novice teachers use design thinking in order to develop their knowledge and skills. Based on the Innovator’s Compass™, the Coaching Cards provide a structured way for experienced instructors to guide novices in ideating solutions to real problems of practice – including experiments that new teachers can try out in the moment. Following a brief introduction to the approach of the WW Graduate School and the educational theory that informs the cards, participants will have opportunities to roleplay their use with other session attendees.
