Paul M. Fochtman

NEASC 2019 Richard J. Bradley Award Recipient - The award, named in his honor, celebrates the extraordinary contributions of an outstanding leader of the Association.

Dr. Fochtman is the current Head of School at Frankfurt International School. As a teacher he has taught high school chemistry, economics, physics, and spent a short time as a kindergarten teacher. He has led schools of 700 students up to 4000 students. Dr. Fochtman studied Business and Economics at Lycoming College, Educational Administration at the University of Guam, Decision Science at Duke University, and completed his Doctoral study at the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Fochtman did not begin his career as an educator, rather took a non-traditional path beginning in the pharmaceutical industry then serving as a science teacher, coach, assistant principal, principal, and Head of School. Dr. Fochtman’s research into the learning differences of male and female students was included in the best seller book titled, A Fine Young Man. He has been recognized for his leadership by being selected as the global principal of the year, the leader of “teams that make a difference,” and recognized for his community leadership during the Mumbai terrorist attacks.
